Since 1981 Age Concern has been devoted to helping people live well and age well in Lancashire. From helping people to keep doing the things they want, through to providing extra support in times of need.
We believe that chronological age does not define a person and that ageing well is a state of mind. That’s why our motto is #ageisjustanumber
Our Values: Adaptable, Compassionate, Honourable, Progressive, Enterprising, Exploring, Outrageous
Our Mission: To work with and for older people, enriching their lives and supporting them to live well and independently
Our Vision: Is that older people thrive, living vibrant and fulfilled lives.
Age Concern’s brand is built on its values which the charity lives and breathes.
We do the right thing even when no one is watching!
As a non-profit organisation, all income is fully invested back into the charity to help older people and their carers across Lancashire.
We work hard to empower our clients and their families and carers, we achieve this by treating everyone who uses our services with dignity and respect whilst promoting independence, choice and individuality. We are proud to provide specialist services that truly make a difference to vulnerable people, their families and carers.
People occasionally get Age Concern Central Lancashire confused with national older people’s charities such as Age UK, but in reality, Age Concern Central Lancashire is a local and fully independent charity.
“Hard work, ingenuity and impact: this organisation may be in the non-profit environment, but it runs like a well-oiled business should and has measurable impact for service users across the county.” – Stephen Bolton, Commercial Director – Lancashire Business View
We are very proud of our positive impacts on local people and that our work is recognised by a range of significant and influential organisations, both locally and nationally.
